How does AirShade attach to puck lights?
AirShade attaches to your puck lights magnetically. Each AirShade comes with 4 small strong magnets that you place under the puck light trim during initial setup. The magnets are secured to the trim by 3M adhesive. After you place the magnets in place, you can forget about them. AirShade has a steel base that is attracted to the magnets. What tools are needed to install AirShade?
All you need is your hands! The puck lights in your Airstream are attached to the ceiling by 2 metal springs. This allows you to pull the lights off the ceiling for about an inch, this enables you to attach the magnets around the trim.
What if I don't have an Airstream?
AirShade will work on any puck light if these 2 conditions are met:
- The puck light can be pulled out of the ceiling and magnets can be placed around its trim.
- The outer diameter of the puck light is between 3-3.5 inches.
If your lights meets these 2 conditions, AirShade will work for you out of the box.
If your light can be easily pulled out and magnets can be placed but the dimensions of your light are outside the 3-3.5 inch diameter, send us an email. We can make custom mounts for AirShade to fit lights with diameter up to 7 inches.
Can I leave the AirShades attached while towing?
We recommend that you remove the AirShades and store them while towing.
